Classic British Tailoring and Effortless Parisian Chic
For the Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 womenswear collection, Paul Smith continues with his modern masculine aesthetic, with his trademark relaxed and laid back style. Paul Smith, like many other designers this season, chose an androgynous silhouette for his womenwear line, in a collision of effortless Parisian chic and classic British tailoring.
Matt textures and traditional fabrics are teamed with slouchy boyfriend cardigans and oversized knits; wool polka dots are layered under overcoats with masucline tailoing; and waistcoats are combined with matching boyish ankle-grazer trousers, tucked in shirting and informal ties. A touch of femininity were added to the collection with faux fir trim detailing and flashes of sheer silk.
The colour palette features neutral earthy tones of graphite, bronze, taupe and rust, with vibrant pops of magenta and rouge interspersed througout the collection. Knitted beanies, tasselled loafers and stylish spectacles complete the chic office worker looks.
So without further ado, we present the Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 womenswear collection from Paul Smith…enjoy!
