Womenswear Playing With Texture and Masculine Silhouettes
For Autumn/Winter 2011-2012, Nicole Farhi once again presented an understated, yet sophisticated collection that played with texture and masculine silhouettes. Tailored coats with kimono sleeves are teamed with cigarette trousers; sheer tops are paired with full velvet skirts; pinstripe trousers were reworked with a high cinched-in waist; and voluminous hand-pleated skirts mix with slim sheer knits and belted-in waists.
The collection also features textures shift dresses, velvet smock dresses, metallic tweed tailoring and varsity-style knits. For evening wear, Nicole gives us open-backed dresses, matte sequin gowns, tailored wide leg trousers and simple yet elegantly draped cocktail dresses. The grown-up colour palette consists of smokey greys, cherry, Merlot and aubergine hues with flashed of ivory and crisp white. The collections key fabrics include goatskin, soft suede, arran and boiled wool and silk. There are embellishments aplenty, with three-dimensional sequins, chain mail knits and exposed zips. The line was finished off with black footwear with needle-thin metallic stilettos and the odd piece of statement jewellery.
Key pieces of the collection include, an A-line dress topped with shiny red rubber flowers; a stunning white jacquard cape dress; a white chunky knit cable sweater with contrasting black sleeves; and a floor length voluminous hand pleated red skirt.
So without further ado we present the Nicole Farhi Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 collection…Enjoy!
