Ice-cream dream womenswear inspired by the Great British summer
Mulberry is a luxury designer fashion label, launched in 1971 by Roger Saul. Specialising in top-quality leather accessories and womenswear, the brand was re-launched in 2002, following the release of the iconic Bayswater bag, Mulberry has become a British institution and a celebrity favourite throughout the world.
Mulberry seems set to continue with their astronomical popularity thanks to a stunning Spring/Summer 2012 collection. For this season, Mulberry were inspired by the Great British summer and the traditional seaside holiday – ice-cream on the beach, donkey rides, technicolour pier lights and kiss-me-quick chic. The oh-so English collection, channels the die-hard British spirit of hitting the beach no matter what, raincoats and all.
The collection is brimming with all the eclectic charm, luxe detailing, signature seasonal prints, and strong layered silhouettes that we have come to expect from the British brand. The line features stylish raincoats in girly silhouettes; sportswear-inspired running shorts, mesh maxi skirts in a range of ice cream colours; and stunning embroidered dresses in a variety of lengths.
Stand-out pieces of the collection include a cinched in maxi dress with wide stripes in ice cream tones; a jewel encrusted hoody, complete with matching skirt; a nude biker jacket with delicate embroidered detailing; and a sunny yellow raincoat with elegant nipped in waist. The campaign was shot by renowned British photographer Tim Walker and directed by House on Holme on location at Brighton Beach. Models Lindsey Wixson and Frida Gustavsson reclined by super-size holiday props by Andy Hilman, with hair styled by Malcolm Edwards and make-up by Val Garland.
To add icing on the cake we also have all the catwalk pictures from the runway show in Claridge’s ballroom at London Fashion Week, look out for the rising star on four legs…Enjoy!
