Introduction to the Maria Black label
With roots in Ireland, Copenhagen-born Maria Black, was inspired to create unique jewellery after travelling the world to places such as Brazil, India and Ibiza. On her return to Denmark, she received a scholarship from Queen Margrethe II to study as a goldsmith after graduating with first class honours in 2009.
Maria relocated to London, and designed her first jewellery collection that is all handcrafted within her London studio. The first Maria Black jewellery collection was released in 2010, inspired by the 1980’s punk scene and her duel Danish and Irish roots. The edgy jewellery line consisted of rings, necklaces and earrings in gold and silver. Her collections are currently stocked in several UK boutiques including Cop Copine, Qetty Bang Bang, and many boutiques in her native Denmark including Nag Store, Graff and Moshi Moshi. Concessions have also recently opened in Germany and Norway.
