For his year-round Resort 2012 womenswear collection, British designer Jonathan Saunders was in part inspired by drawings the designer created himself. The geometric latticework jacquard patterns Saunders placed on dresses, skirts and tailoring evolved from drawing he made of ornate stone and metalwork. Also featured in the collection were slightly high-waisted skirts and dresses in a flattering A-line, full-length evening dresses, constrasting colours of rasberry, pink, ice gray and soft yellow, as well as a selection of knitwear, skirt and trouser separates.
For his Spring/Summer 2012 menswear collection, the Central St Martins graduate featured several graphic prints, knitweat, light-weight macs and summer tailoring. A prominent feature in all Jonathan Saunders’ womenswear collections, colour blocking, was mirrored in the menswear offering in hues of icy gray, aqua and tan.
