Textured Tweeds and Heavily Worked Wools
For Autumn/Winter 2011-2012, John Rocha was inspired by Neil Young’s Harvest Moon, Pierre Coulages black-drenched paintings, and the harsh, yet beautiful, landscapes of Iceland. The resultant textural collection consisted of textured tweeds and over-worked wools that featured as entangled poncho dresses, dishevelled, yet chic prom dresses and voluminous belted trenches. The collection was not only dark and heavy – lightness was brought to the collection by teaming the heavy pieces with sheer under pieces, delicate crochet edging and feminine silk georgettes. Colour pops of gold and red added to the predominantly black on black palette.
So without further ado, we present the Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 collection from John Rocha…Enjoy!
