Space Age Fashion from the Moons of Jupiter
For the Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 collection Ada Zanditon, is inspired by a mythical species that has evolved under the frozen surface of Europa, one of Jupiter’s moons, known as ‘The Cryoflux’. The Cryoflux leave Europa for the barren darkness of the Antarctic winter to explore the frozen world in an unfamiliar state of flux. Luckily for the Cryoflux woman she has the wardrobe to match the ever shifting environment, comprising end-of-line fabrics, locally woven wool Melton, Scottish tweed, double-ombre chiffon, silk shantung, vegetable-tanned leather and organic cotton.
The collection features structured garments with 3-dimensional effects and geometrical printed designs to reflect the changing climate reforming around ‘The Cryoflux’. The colour palette featured pallid blues and bold navy shades, interspersed with coral, orange and deep Bordeaux. Ada debuted the collection in London’s Covent Garden and allowed spectators to get up close and personal with the other-worldly collection, by using static mannequins instead of real-life models.
So without further ado, we present the Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 collection from ethical fashion designer Ada Zanditon…Enjoy!
